Whatever it is, scientists are working to show that only internal change may lead to better health and happiness for a person. Beyond that, there is nothing but a dream.

University of Wisconsin neuroscientists Richard Davidson and Jon Kabat-Zinn, as well as the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre’s Jon Kabat-Zinn, have just finished some fascinating research that may be of assistance to you and me as we go about our daily lives.

They studied a group of 41 people who were under a lot of stress but were otherwise healthy and working in a Wisconsin biotechnology firm. Twenty-five of the participants learned how to meditate. Mindfulness meditation is appropriate in this situation. A 2.5 to 3-hour meditation lesson was held once a week for the members of the organization. They all gathered for a seven-hour meditation retreat after six weeks. Additionally, each participant was required to do one hour of daily guided meditation at home using a meditation cassette.

They were kept as a control group for the study duration and did not receive any meditation instruction.

All participants received a flu shot after the eight-week program in November. Moreover, what do you know? This means they have a lower risk of getting influenza because the individuals in the meditation group have higher antibody levels.
